I received my Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This is my first year at Wayne Thomas. I am the English Language Arts teacher focusing on reading fluency and comprehension. Your child will be exploring the concept of relationships (people are connected through relationships, relationships influence character, sequence is a kind of relationship and problem-solution is a kind of relationship) using fiction and non-fiction literature. First grade students will dig deeper for comprehension in different genres of text and work on recognizing high frequency words. I am looking forward to a great year!
